We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef who will support kitchen operations, supervise food preparation and service delivery, and help maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, organisation, and operational efficiency across the catering and dining department.
 
Job Description
Position:                Sous-Chef  – 2 Individuals 
Reporting to:         Executive Chef 
Department:          Catering  
Position Type:       Full-Time (including occasional evenings and weekends as required) 
Role Overview:    The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in the daily operational management of the kitchen and food production, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, safety, and service delivery across all catering operations.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant operational or hospitality experience.
  • Experience working in busy kitchen environments.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
 
Desirable:
  • Food Safety and Hygiene certification.
  • Experience in a school or boarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Kitchen Operations:
  1. Supervise food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards.
  2. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation in all kitchen areas.
 
2. Team Support & Supervision:
  1. Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen sections during service.
  2. Support staff training and development in food preparation and safety standards
 
3. Food Safety & Compliance:
  1. Support monitoring of temperature control, storage, and stock handling.
  2. Report any operational or safety issues to the Executive Chef.
 
4. Service Delivery:
  1. Support special events and high-volume service periods.
  2. Maintain professionalism during all service operations.
