Personal Assistant to the Head of Sixth Form

 

Role Overview

The PA will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the Secondary School leadership office.

 

This position requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, interpersonal and organisational skills to effectively manage the demands of the role.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders (parents, staff, students).
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication between the Head of Sixth Form and other departments.
  • Manage the Head’s calendar, scheduling appointments, meetings, and school events.
  • Draft, prepare, and manage correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Handle incoming/outgoing communications (emails, letters, calls) with confidentiality.
  • Organise and support meetings, conferences, and events (logistics, minutes, follow-up).
  • Maintain positive relationships with students and parents, offering guidance/support.
  • Coordinate parent-teacher meetings, student conferences, and other engagements.
  • Maintain student records, transcripts, and related documentation.
  • Support monitoring of student progress, performance, and disciplinary issues.
  • Liaise with Admissions and Finance for prospective students and smooth onboarding.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (Education, Business Admin, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a PA/Administrative Assistant, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of educational policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management software.
  • Excellent organisation, multitasking, and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
