School Bus Chaperone
Role Overview
The successful candidate’s role will be to provide pastoral care and supervision by ensuring students are escorted safely to and from school while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Chaperone Duties
i. Escort students safely from the designated pick-up point in Ikoyi at 6:00am to school in Ogombo.
ii. Supervise and ensure the orderly behaviour of all students during the journey.
iii. Maintain accurate records of attendance for all students travelling on the bus.
iv. Ensure students are safely collected and dropped off at authorised locations to adults authorized by the parents.
v. Communicate proactively with parents and Line Manager regarding pick-up and drop-off arrangements.
vi. Respond appropriately and politely to messages or calls from parents during transit, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
vii. Work in partnership with the Driver to ensure a smooth, efficient, and safe service.
viii. Notify the Line Manager promptly of any delays, incidents, or significant traffic issues affecting arrival and departure times.

i. Ensure all children are safe, comfortable, and accounted for at all times.
ii. Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
iii. Uphold the highest standards of child protection and professional conduct.
Qualification, Skills and Knowledge
Qualifications and Experience (Essential / Desirable)
Minimum qualification: OND.
Previous experience working with children or in a school environment.
First Aid or Basic Safety training or willingness to obtain.
Administrative, customer service or front-of -house experience.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
Professional appearance and demeanour.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
Strong judgement and ability to respond to issues appropriately while in transit.
Knowledge of Lagos routes and traffic patterns.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
